On Monday 4th April 2011, Age Action Ireland will be holding a workshop entitled 'Elder Abuse' at the Croí na Gaillimhe Resource Centre. This will be the 3rd in a series of workshops which Age Action is organising for the public to help raise awareness about elder abuse. The workshops will take place between 28th of March and 8th of April at venues in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Athy, Co. Kildare.
The aim of the workshop will be to raise awareness about what elder abuse is, the warning signs of abuse, the supports available if a person is being abused, and how to access them.
The workshop at Croí na Gaillimhe will be run by Emer Begley (Age Action Ireland) and Susan Rodden (Social Worker - HSE West). The workshop will run from 9.15am to 12pm. There is no cost to attend the workshop and it is open to all interested people.
